Zoe & Stanley @ Downtown L.A.

It’s a very nice weekend at Los Angeles. After I moved up to bay area, I really miss Los Angeles.  It’s great to have chance to shoot in downtown Los Angeles again. Everything is so familar. This time, for Zoe and Stanley. We picked 2 locations in the downtown: the broadway theater and Disney Concert Hall. I have shot in these 2 location many times before, but everytime, pictures are different. This time with my new camera Canon 5D MarkII, I can test its performance at low light situation. At the Broadway theater, flash is not allowed, just as some wedding in a dark church. So all these shots are under the natural lights from the window with ISO above 2000. The image quality is amazing, I am looking forward to shoot 2009 weddings with this new camera.

I like their funny face, very cute:

One candid shot in the theater:

Before we head to Disney Concert Hall, in the parking lot, another session, looks really cool:

Then, Zoe changed to her shinning purple outfit, adding lot of color. I like it.

As we got to Disney Concert Hall, there are at least 3 couples shooting engagement photos and wedding portraits there. I didn’t notice it is such a popular place for wedding photos. We did wish there was an elevator. But it was great workout to walk up all those steps. Finally, we reached the top:

Let’s take a normal one:

New Year Trip to Lake Tahoe

Filed under Personal • Written by admin @ 2:41 am

Happy New Years! It’s 2009 now. We original planned the trip to Vegas for Christmas but I got a terrible cold and the plan was delayed. So Now, we are going to have the new year in Lake Tahoe. It will be our first time to take the ski lesson. We are excited and nervous. We spent a half day shopping for all the ski wears before the trip. We dress really like a pro although we are the beginner. Before the ski lesson starts, it’s our picture time.

I got my new camera (5D MarkII)before Christmas holiday, so excited that I can play with it and test it. Here are some test shots we did at evening time. The high ISO performance is really amazing. It can perfectly handle almost all low light situation.

It’s cold but sunny at Tahoe. The lakeside was frozen, so we can stand on the ice and play with the snow. Julia get excited:

Look at the big snowman:

We set up the tripod and jumped again and again, that’s really good exercise.

Have you ever seen Julia so Sassy?

Her special funny face:

The beautiful lake in the winter is so peaceful, that moment is really romantic.
