Anne & Yuichiro’s Engagement and Banquet at Four Seasons | Palo Alto

Filed under Engagements • Written by admin @ 11:54 am

Thanks Mark for introducing me to his high school classmate Anne. Mark is one of the most talented and popular fashion photographer in TaiWan. I got the chance to know Mark when he was in graduate school of photography in Academy of Art in San Francisco. After graduation, Mark went back Taiwan and now he is a professor teaching photography in university. When Anne ask Mark who is the best wedding photographer that he would recommend. Mark referred to me. Thanks Mark for giving me such an honor. And we are also lucky to become friends with Anne & Yuichiro. The first time when we met up, Anne & Julia became good friends. They were talking about shopping and even scheduled to go shop together next time. Well, that’s girls from Taiwan. I am not surprised at all. Anne & Yuichiro met each other at the international students center of graduate school. Anne was from Taiwan and Yuichiro was from Japan. We covered their Engagement portrait session and their banquet reception at Four Seasons Palo Alto. They will have 2 official wedding ceremony later in Taiwan and Japan. And hope our schedule can workout so we can cover their wedding in Japan. That would be awesome.

Feb 13th, 2010: Elaine & David’s Wedding @ Stanford Memorial Church, CA

Today is a special day. It’s the Chinese New Year Eve and it’s also Elaine & David’s wedding day. We had a great time together at the Engagement photo session about a month ago and have been looking forward to this special day for a while. We knew Elaine & David will have the day well planned. David is a well organized planner, he would check the exact sunset forecast when we planned the E-session. The wedding is not big, but very warm and cozy. It’s a pity that both their parents are in China and couldn’t make it to the wedding. But David’s parent and Brother made a great video and send the best wishes to all the audience.
Again, thanks a lot for the amazing makeup by Ann Ho. Everytime, Ann did stunning job.
We started the getting ready session at 1 PM at Stanford Park Hotel, a lovely victoria style hotel. All these beautiful bouquet were all hand made by Elaine and her bridemaids. Is that amazing? And Elaine told me she learned how to make the bouquet through Youtube.

The ceremony started at 3 PM at Stanford Memorial Church. As we all knew, this church has very restrictive rule about photography. So we are very limited to the very back roles and the second floor.

After the ceremony, we had a campus tour with the whole bridal party.

The reception was also at Stanford University. The most impressive part of this wedding is the toasting part. David had his undergraduate and graduate school in TsingHua Universtiy in Beijing, China. Eleven of his classmates are now in U.S.A and they all made it to this wedding. And the toast section is full of emotions and tears. Julia said to me:”That’s my first time to see so many guys burst into tears together”. We can really feel that they were all so happy for David, who can marry such a great bride.

We were so lucky to shoot the maternity portrait session for Niki during our trip to Taiwan. We shot this session only 2 weeks ahead of Niki’s due date. Thanks Niki & Daniel for their warmest invitation and accompanying us during the visit. Daniel is the best tour guide and we had a blast in the city of TaiNan, the food is just gorgeous and we don’t even want to come back. We had such a great time together. Niki & Daniel, we hope to see you soon, either in US, or Canada.

Jan 23rd, 2010: Lindsey & Todd’s Wedding | Santa Clara

We shot Lindsey & Todd’s engagement session about half a year ago. We remember it was a raining day in the Summer but the photos turned out just amazing. Lindsey told us that her whole family loved the E-session photos and slideshow. Now, it’s their wedding day in Bay Area. It had been raining the whole week, and just cleared up before the wedding day. That’s just perfect. We started the getting ready session from Hilton at Santa Clara.

And Lindsey & Todd met up in the Lobby, and that’s the first time that Todd saw his beautiful bride in the wedding gown.

The church ceremony is at the Presbyterian Church of Sunnyvale. This church has the most restrictive rule about photography. That means: NO photography during the entire ceremony. That rule is almost ridiculous. I was almost pissed off during the rehearsal. And Lindsey & Todd came to calm me down and told me that they understood the rule and ask me to take the stress out. I know this church means a lot to Lindsey and her family. So let’s follow the rule. Just a few shots during the processional:

After the ceremony, we did a portrait session in the backyard of the church:

Dinner reception is at Freedom Hall in Santa Clara very close to Mission college

Great speech by Todd’s brother.

That’s a night full of fun and excitement. Another unforgettable evening for all of us.

Christine & John’s Wedding at Mountain Winery | Saratoga, CA

We shot Christine & John’s engagement session about 3 months before their wedding day and we had a great time together in Sausalito at the E-session. Finally, it came their big day. The ceremony was in the morning and reception at lunch time. We knew they are going to wear Korean traditional costumes and we knew it was going to be beautiful, but at the time when we switched to it, we were still surprised and “Wow”. It’s so cute and nice. Both Julia and I love the costume. You will see it. Let’s start the show:
